Sunset Childrens Session – Abby & Emmy

When photographing children, I know you need to expect the unexpected– and I’m fully aware of this from personal experience with my own children, too; “Catch Caleb if you can” is a really fun game when it comes to photos! But even when the sessions don’t go as planned, I want my families to rest assured and walk away knowing I have documented their children in the most honest and authentic way, while still capturing some of the most beautiful images.

During the session, the youngest sister grew tired of the mosquitoes biting, and she was just exhausted from the day; but even though we didn’t get as many solo shots or more photos of the sisters together, I still kept photographing– and as I shared with her Mother, there was just a beauty to her sadness and the way her sister comforted her. So I couldn’t help but to capture the moment and include those images in their gallery. And although some of these may not seem like canvas-hanging or frame-worthy images, they will be cherished because it documents the love they have as sisters– and if you’re like me, you’ll adore each photo and appreciate looking back on your littles with their different expressions and emotions, not just the smiling photos!! As the saying goes, there is perfection in imperfection… and I’ll just leave these right here 🙂
